Where in the world are you? How did you end up there?

I am currently in Miami. I wanted to study abroad in South America and this is the closest thing I’ve found to it.

What is your favorite place to shop there?

There is a funky store on Miami Ave in Midtown called Alessandra Gold Concept Store that sells really cool sneakers, tights, and clothes you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else.

What do you do? What does it take to do what you do well?

I am a comedian. It takes a lifetime of experiences and a great memory to be a good comedian.

What inspires and motivates you?

My inspiration comes from within me. I lost the Senior Notable title of Wittiest in my high school yearbook to another girl in my class. I am forever chasing that title.

If you had a time-machine what year would you shoot to and why?

I would take it to 1963, find Brian Wilson and barge in on a jam session to watch him write.

How would you describe your personal style?

I would describe my style as an urban Jem.

What do you say to people who think fashion is a complete waste of time and money?

I say, don’t you like getting complimented on what you wear though?

Which 3 songs on your device do you listen on constant repeat?

Jimmy Cliff’s I Can See Clearly Now, The Beach Boys’ Daybreak Over the Ocean and Katy Perry’s Roar

What fashion statement did you love when you were 15 that you wouldn’t be caught dead in now?

Big 80s socks over leggings!!

What statement does this Adia Kibur piece make about you?

I’ve made it in the hood.

Where in the world are you? How did you end up there?

I live in the Finnish capital Helsinki. I consider myself a true Helsinkiana, a term I came up with while living in Italy. I think Helsinki is one of the most exciting cities in Europe since it keeps on evolving! It's a bold city, the city where heaven meets the sea. For me, Helsinki sparkles.

What is your favorite place to shop there?

I shop mostly online, but in Helsinki my favorite shopping areas are Kamppi and Aleksanterinkatu street. I also love second hand and vintage shops. One of the best places to shop in Helsinki is Design District Helsinki.

What do you do? What does it take to do what you do well?

I’m a destination marketer and I work for the DMO Visit Helsinki. I have to be well informed about as good as everything that happens in Helsinki. I also need to be innovative, outgoing, convincing and authentic.

What inspires and motivates you?

My passion is people, writing and food. I love discovering weak signals by listening and interacting with people, and then turning the signals into actions. I'm an analyzer and observer of life and I believe that words empower us. I think the food culture in Helsinki is experiencing a golden age. Fashion, interior design, travels, my work are just some of the things that inspire me.

You can read more about me in my blog at http://dragonflyelisabeth.blogspot.fi/.

If you had a time-machine what year would you shoot to and why?

I would love to relive the 20’s and join a cocktail party in Great Gatsby style!

How would you describe your personal style?

Elegant and classic as I wear a lot of clothing in black/white/grey, but I mix it with hints of bold colors and prints. I love to mix Nordic light colors and simple lines with rich Eastern, mostly Slavic, melancholy (exotic prints and jewelry).

What do you say to people who think fashion is a complete waste of time and money?

Everyone has the right to their opinion, but in my opinion fashion and style are parts of culture and people tell their life story through their clothing.

Which 3 songs on your device do you listen on constant repeat?

Currently: Klingande – Jubel, Miley Cyrus – I adore you and Katy Perry - Unconditionally

What fashion statement did you love when you were 15 that you wouldn’t be caught dead in now?

I wore skater shoes, oversize hoodies and a lot of leather string necklaces. Oh, and horrific plastic tattoo-inspired jewelry!

What statement does this Adia Kibur piece make about you?

I’m bold and there’s more to me than meets the eye.

Where in the world are you? How did you end up there?

I live and work in Pittsburgh, PA! This is where I was born and raised. I briefly moved to the south for college so I have a love for DC as well!

What is your favorite place to shop there?

I love all of the little boutiques but I would have to say that Ross Park Mall has all of the staple shopping covered!

What do you do? What does it take to do what you do well?

I am an event coordinator and also handle some social media and PR for an Event Planning firm. I have to be coordinated, focused and very good at multi tasking to perform well and make our clients happy!

What inspires and motivates you?

There is SO much that inspires me. From blogs to Pinterest, to every day life. I love to meet new people and connect with others. Being the best version of myself is my daily motivation!

If you had a time-machine what year would you shoot to and why?

Somewhere in the 1940’s/50s/60s. I love that time period. From the music to the clothing, I can’t get enough. I am actually convinced I was born in the wrong decade.

How would you describe your personal style?

I would say timeless and classic with a bit of preppy and a touch of trend.

What do you say to people who think fashion is a complete waste of time and money?

I say that they are totally wrong! Not only is fashion an artform but it is a great way to express yourself. Not to mention all of the jobs it creates for the economy!

Which 3 songs on your device do you listen on constant repeat?

Summer Wind - Frank Sinatra, Covered in Rain- John Mayer, Missed Calls- Mac Miller

What fashion statement did you love when you were 15 that you wouldn’t be caught dead in now?

This is SO embarrassing but I used to wear double polos. Let’s just say I won’t be layering my polos.

What statement does this Adia Kibur piece make about you?

It’s trendy because the pearls are larger than life and make a statement but because the necklace is neutral and made of pearls, it nods to classic style. I absolutely love this piece.

Where in the world are you? How did you end up there?

I am currently based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I wish there was a glamorous explanation for why we ended up here, but, alas, there’s not. My family moved here from Ukraine when I was very young.

What is your favorite place to shop there?

I absolutely love online shopping. No, let me rephrase that. I am addicted to online shopping. In fact, I just may need an intervention. Just a few clicks, and you’ve got an updated wardrobe! What’s not to love? Besides that, however, I love second-hand shopping, especially after perusing and finding so many lovely items at vintage boutiques in Europe.

What do you do? What does it take to do what you do well?

I am a freelance graphic and web designer, which requires a creative mind, attention to detail and continuous self-initiative.

What inspires and motivates you?

I am endlessly drawing inspiration from everything I see – the places I travel, the people I know and meet, the movies I see, the books I read, the music I listen to.

If you had a time-machine what year would you shoot to and why?

I would go back to last summer, when I spent three months traveling with my husband through nearly 20 European countries. Talk about an experience of a lifetime, which, as you can imagine, left me with an incurable case of wanderlust. You can read all about my travel experiences on my blog.

How would you describe your personal style?

I feel like my personal style is creative but streamlined. I love focusing on strong pieces with dramatic cuts, textures, and luxurious fabrics and juxtapose them with simple, minimalistic basics. I also feel that my personal style is always evolving. Each day is an occasion to reinvent myself, if only in my imagination.

What do you say to people who think fashion is a complete waste of time and money?

As Ralph Lauren once said, “Fashion is not necessarily about labels. It’s not about brands. It’s about something else that comes from within you.” Our clothing choices are rarely neutral; they are strong nonverbal communicators of our identities. Furthermore, clothes have the power to not only dictate our mood, but also our behavior. The sooner people come to terms with this fact, the sooner they’ll start analyzing and putting effort into the image they’re giving off.

Which 3 songs on your device do you listen on constant repeat?

If I had to pick just three of the most played songs in my iTunes library, they would be “Everytime” by Loreen, “Siempre Me Quedara” by Bebe and “Crave You – Adventure Club Dubstep Remix” by Flight Facilities.

What fashion statement did you love when you were 15 that you wouldn’t be caught dead in now?

I think it’s safe to say that most items I wore when I was 15 are long gone from my wardrobe. I was a bit of an eccentric when it came to fashion. I didn’t try to follow trends; I made up my own. I remember layering sleeveless tops over blouses to stand out from the typical dress code at school. Ironically, the trend caught on, and before I knew it, other girls were sporting the look, and I remember commenting to my friends, “Was I not the first one to wear that?”

What statement does this Adia Kibur piece make about you?

Fashion is very transient. Trends come and go. This multi-colored long necklace, however, is of a timeless and elegant style that would look just as lovely with a graphic tee and boyfriend jeans as it does with a peplum top and a brocade skirt.

Where in the world are you? How did you end up there?

I currently live in Milan (Italy) but I grew up in a very small town near Mantova.  My passion for fashion brought to Milan where I did my University studies and started working in the fashion world.

What is your favorite place to shop there?

I really love Antonia (great brands choice) and Antonioli (I love Rick Owens and Margiela masterpieces)

My passion for fashion, for beautiful things, I love discover new brands everyday, I love watching people around me, real street style (not always “fashion-people” style), travelling is also another way to get inspiration in my life.

If you had a time-machine what year would you shoot to and why?

I would like to come back just a few decades, I would like to live in 80s. I thinks 80s have been the years of change in fashion, in lifestyle, in music and in a lot of fields.

How would you describe your personal style?

My style is very “Mine”, I love fashion but I am not must-have addicted, that is I love changing my style – sometimes rock, sometimes romantic, sometimes minimal – but in a coherent way. People/my friends always recognize my style.  I also love vintage clothing and I try to mix and match branded apparel with vintage pieces!

What do you say to people who think fashion is a complete waste of time and money?

I totally disagree. Fashion is a way to express ourselves!

Which 3 songs on your device do you listen on constant repeat?

Sweet Home Alabama – any Beyoncè song when I want to get energy! – Marvin Gaye songs (I love all of them)

What fashion statement did you love when you were 15 that you wouldn’t be caught dead in now?

I really love punk clothes (like skinny jeans with very “high” and “important” boots that I will never be able to wear right now!

What statement does this Adia Kibur piece make about you?

It’s a perfect mix of contemporary design with classical material (white pearls). I have combine it with a total black Rick Owens mood and this necklace is like a “ray”of light.
